Use the following ingredients as a guideline and create a one-of-a-kind potpourri by putting together your favorite blend of fall favorites.
Ingredients :
- Whole cloves
- Allspice berries
- Dried cranberries
- Bay leaves
- Dried apple rings
- Cinnamon sticks
- Star anise
- Pinecones
- Dried flowers (optional)
Method :
Few drops fall-themed essential oils such as pine needle, cedarwood, clove, cinnamon bark, orange In a large bowl, combine cloves, allspice berries, cranberries, bay leaves, dried apple rings, cinnamon sticks, star anise, pinecones and dried flowers, if desired.
Sprinkle with a few drops of essential oils; toss to combine. Display as desired. Refresh by adding more oils to the mix as the scent fades. Makes 1 large bowl of potpourri.
Prep time: 10 minutes
Flower Power: Remove leaves from a bouquet of flowers; tie bouquet together with twine. Hang it upside down in a dry, dark place until flowers have dried, about 2 to 3 weeks; use for potpourri.
Place potpourri in decorative bowls and display throughout the house, or transfer to small Mason jars, tie with raffia, and give as aromatic fall gifts.
